Today was a powerful day for lifting up the voices of New Hampshire’s students!

Almost 200 students from across the state gathered today to view a screening of the documentary, Anxious Nation.

This powerfully, impactful film focuses on the ways in which anxiety and mental health disorders are impacting today’s youth.

After watching the film, students worked in teams to craft images reflecting their take-aways from the film.

Lastly, each school proposed initiatives, practices, and activities which they felt would help improve school climate and reduce student stressors.

Students in attendance will return to their respective schools to share their experiences and ideas with their peers and other trusted adults.

Students were also able to engage with Joey, the on-site therapy dog who works in the Amherst School District, throughout the event.

We would like to thank John Vaccarezza Principal of Timberlane High School, and his outstanding staff and leadership team, for hosting our state-wide high school leader’s monthly meeting this morning.

We were treated to an amazing breakfast then learned about the school’s Life of an Owl Student Leadership Program.

School Leaders in attendance were able to collaborate on timely topics related to student safety, curriculum and staffing needs.

A great morning working with and learning from our colleagues in this very powerful think tank of thought-partners.

Thank you TRHS!  Go Owls!!

Great day to be a member of NHASP at the Christa McAuliffe Technology Conference

Special thanks to the Manchester School District and the Manchester School of Technology for hosting NHASPs Legislative Breakfast this morning.  Talented students from MSTs culinary department prepared a delicious breakfast buffet for all of us!

Additionally, we would like to thank Representative M. Hall for engaging us in meaningful constructive dialogue regarding policy issues impacting public education.

Lakes Region Community College hosted members of the NH Association of School Principals on November 14th.  Local administrators met with LRCC leadership to learn more about programs the school has to offer.  NHASP has been leading the way across the state by connecting with principals and industry leaders.

Special thanks to Mike Perez, Principal, at Pinkerton Academy, and his amazing team of Associate Deans for hosting me at their school today.

Once I was officially checked in, I was welcomed outside the office by Julia and Linda, who transported me to my meeting location while providing me with some historical context of the buildings we passed along the way to my destination.

I enjoyed the opportunity to join the ADs PLC team meeting then take a tour of the campus with Principal, Perez.

It was a privilege to also have had the opportunity to meet and greet several staff members and students in the CTE building and in other buildings throughout the campus.

We spent some time with Eric, PAs full time School Marshall discussing safety protocols and the ways in which the broader leadership team is leveraging the use of innovative technologies to keep students and staff safe.

It was a wonderful visit.  I learned so much about the Astros’ culture, the leadership team’s future aspirations and it just felt great to be with students!

Thank you to the staff at PA for all the ways in which they continue to show up in service of students and the school community!

NHASP and NHASEA are pleased to partner again this year to support educators and school leaders working towards various stages of MTSS-B implementation.

During the first day of this year-long training, teams worked collaboratively to: Assess Barriers to Practice, apply a problem-solving framework to one of those problems/gaps, and develop actionable outcomes to address those problems/gaps.  Teams leveraged this data to begin planning for site-based implementation readiness.

Public Service Loan Forgiveness can eliminate far more debt than a one-time $10,000 or $20,000 impact, but many educators find the process complicated and time-consuming to navigate. That’s where long-time corporate supporter, Horace Mann, can help. Sign up on our website for an account with no-cost access to tools and resources to help you navigate the process.
